A CGM is mainly used to monitor the glucose concentration in interstitial fluid, which mainly reflects the fluctuation and changing trend of blood glucose.
We can observe the trend arrow of the CGM and the fluctuation trend of blood glucose to analyze the speed at which food can increase blood glucose and the duration of the effect of increasing blood glucose, the speed at which exercise can decrease blood glucose and the onset time and duration of the effect of decreasing blood glucose, the onset time of hypoglycemic drugs, the digestion and absorption speed of gastrointestinal tract, etc. In other words, we can learn about the impact of each food on individual blood glucose, whether the current medication is appropriate, and whether the diet, exercise, and medication should be adjusted.
